Wednesday Weigh-in: The Remix #1

So, a week after the re-commitment, how did I do?

Last week, if I had to grade myself I’d probably give me a C+.   Quite some effort and quite some non-effort! Ha!

Fitness

Monday – AM core workout
Tuesday – AM “run” (was more like a wog, but ok, I got out there)
Tuesday – PM BodyPump with Ron
Wednesday – PM RPM with Ron and Vincent
Thursday – nada
Friday – biked 10KM and ran 5KM
Saturday – RPM with Ron and Vincent
Sunday – RPM (2 hours)

Food

Yeah.  Still need to work on this.  Monday I ate a whole bunch of cookies at work.  It’s a thing.  I can’t just eat one cookie or chocolate or whatever.  I don’t really know why.   So after that happened, I decided Tuesday to log everything in the WW app to stay on course.  I was able to do that Tuesday, Wednesday and most of Thursday.    I didn’t touch the app at all since Thursday after work.   I notice I don’t get all my fruit and veg in in the weekend, so I’m trying to focus on that as well.

Fun

I give the week a C+ because of the activity effort and somewhat of an effort with food.  However, on Thursday night I went out with Babette, we had dinner and drinks and we ended up being out pretty late.  Mind you I stopped drinking at 12-ish.  Two margaritas and two beers.  And for me that was more than enough.   It was tons of fun but with getting to bed late and having to be up at a decent time Friday (since I had clients in the afternoon) meant I really needed to focus on staying hydrated and eating properly.  Even if you don’t have an alcohol hangover, it can feel like one from lack of sleep.

Ron and I also ended up eating out on Sunday night as well – I had the spinning marathon and then in the afternoon part II of my Mobility Trainer course – so I was away the whole day!  I just thought it would be nice to go out like usual and catch up with each other.

Things I can improve:

Definitely the binging at work / saying no to food that has no added value

Getting up for a fasted cardio workout (or even core training) in the morning

logging my food in the app

If you had to grade your week last week, what would your score be?

I rate my week a B+! I got in all of my runs, but definitely didn’t hit all of my strength training workouts. I don’t feel as good without them!

    1. Renée says:

hopefully this week is going better!!

  2. I imagine it’s tough to pass up all the sweets at work. Maybe bring your own stash of healthy foods to have on hand?

    1. Renée says:

I usually have my own food with me. We have no desk drawers or anything like that though. I have to make the effort to eat what I brought with me. Most of the time it’s fine. Sometimes it’s not!

  3. Karen :0) says:

I know what you mean about those dang cookies and sweets. It’s so hard to just have one!

    1. Renée says:

I need a shrink. I was actually thinking of hypnotherapy to make me think cookies were gross.

  4. I never worry much about the food I’m eating. I don’t love the idea of making food a reward or a punishment either so I try to be really intuitive about my eating. I did do some great workouts last week though!

    1. Renée says:

glad you got some good workouts in!

  5. kookyrunner says:

I find it hard to stay away from all the goodies at work, especially during this time of year. I definitely need to practice more willpower when it comes to that lol

    1. Renée says:

it’s still an issue for me. i wish I really could understand why!

  6. I’m not sure how I’d grade myself. I’m definitely staying active, but also trying to be conservative with my running so the wonky hamstrings can fully recover from all the months of marathon training. Even though being conservative is what my body needs, it feels like I’m slacking off. UGH.

    1. Renée says:

you are so active I can imagine you feel like you are slacking!

  7. runswithpugs says:

Awesome is how you did! I think if you look at your overall improvements and gains you would see that you are absolutely above and beyond with your recommitment and doing so well. Proud of you, and you should be proud of you, too!

    1. Renée says:

ah, thank you so much Jenn!!

  8. angela@marathonsandmotivation.com says:

I hear you about staying up late! It takes me way too long to recover as I have gotten older. Right now, I am struggling to fit it all in!!

    1. Renée says:

I think this time of year in particular is just so so busy!!

  9. Organic Runner Mom says:

My week has been a B. I could have gotten in more running. What is the spinning marathon? I’d love to hear more about that.

    1. Renée says:

I hear you about getting in more running! The spinning “marathon” was 3 hours RPM + Spinning for charity. So we paid each EUR 15 to participate and then the idea of course was to keep up the workout for 3 hours. I didn’t find it so hard actually – I mean if you know you are going three hours, you really should build up, like you do with running a half marathon, for example!

  10. I’ve got a thing for cookies too so I know stepping away from treats at work would be tough for me too!

    1. Renée says:

the cookies continue at work. I don’t know why it’s so hard to choose not to eat them!!

  11. Hanna Gierzynska-Zalewska says:

I think you’re doing an amazing job, I try to track my food but I fail miserably. And you’re active practically every day!

    1. Renée says:

thanks Hanna! I CAN track my food but I just get so tired of it after a while! I need to stay active to stay sane!
