Normally for the Ultimate Coffee Date we catch up with each other for a chat and a brew of choice, but since I haven’t posted since January I will spare you the “ultimate catch up” and just let you know I posted a recap in two parts here and here. No need to read, but of course if you choose to, obviously do so at your leisure.
So what I really would like to talk to you about, is my new excitement and dare I say happiness thinking about my SEPTEMBER PROJECT. September is one of my favorite months and that’s not surprising really since it’s my birthday month! Because it’s been quite the year and I’m just sort of drifting along, I came up with a challenge for the month of September to get me back in a rhythm, get me energized, and get me feeling good again.
So what is it?
Basically this:
- Upping my exercise. I’ve had a LOT of pain this year, so I’ve kind of half-a$$ed my exercise. Also when my dad died I basically lost all desire to do anything. From that point everything was a bonus. However, in September my plan is to have at least 60min of exercise a day (can be split) and 3000 calories burned a month. I asked Co-Pilot to help me with a schedule and so far I’m roughly following that (I have to actually add a little bit more than it gave me to do to reach the calorie burn goal but nothing that can’t be solved with a walk)
- Every day I think about all the things I need to do. So I’m writing a short “to-do” list for each day (more realistic than a huge list) and I will cross off all the items each day.
- Every day in September I will de-clutter in some way. If that just means clearing out a box, putting something on Vinted or giving something away on the neighborhood free stuff app, then that’s what I’ll do. De-cluttering doesn’t have to take all day, it can literally mean one thing that you’ve been meaning to do but just haven’t.
- Every day in September I will do one thing to clean up or tidy in my house. Should be a no brainer right? You’d be suprised how depression can make even normal, every day tasks seem impossible.
I’ll write these down in my journal every day to keep track.
Now tell me…What are you up to? What’s new in your life? I can’t wait to catch up with you!
