Fit Five Friday – Workouts & Music

Another end of the week is upon us! Today on our FFF topics we are talking about music – what are your current favourite workout tunes? In my case I have too many so I am going to share with you my favourite playlists I’m currently rotating on Spotify.

Join us on the Fit Five Friday Journey!

WELOME to Fit Five Friday with with your FIVE amazing hosts – me, My First 5K and MoreRunning With Attitude, Runs with Pugs, and The Running Teacher !

Five of my current favourite playlists

Disclaimer: Spotify is not paying me or gifting me anything by the way, this is just the platform I currently use. Ron uses Tidal and I haven’t switched yet because of my playlists; the quality is a bit better and apparently the artists get a bit more profit than what is given by Spotify. So maybe I’ll switch at some point.

1) For the Long Run – Ludovico Einaudi

Honestly this music will put you in a trance! You won’t be thinking about anything but the glorious compositions created by this Italian genius! I recently used this on the trail race I did last month; this music + being in the forest was absolute heaven!

2)For some great energy – The Chemical Brothers Radio

I love the Chemical Brothers so what could be better than them, plus artists similar to them? Super helpful, upbeat dance/electronic music that is really good for speed work.

3)For a de-stressing, chill out, walking session – Evening Chill 2024

I first heard this whilst hanging out at one of my favourite (now sadly closed) restaurants in town. The mood is so relaxed and chill. Plus lots of artists and music I’d never heard before. Sometimes you just need this kind of vibe on an evening walk to help you let go of the days thoughts and happenings.

4) For a guaranteed good time – Harry Styles Radio

Not gonna lie, if I were 30+ years younger I would have a seriously mad crush on this guy. He’s handsome, he’s fun and he’s talented. Combine his music with other current artists that are slightly related and you’ve got a guaranteed happy workout, run, bike or walk session.

5) For A Classic Mix of Pop based on the Queen herself – Madonna Radio

Say whatever you want about Madonna, her music is catchy and timeless and for many of us a real connection to our younger glory days. Combine that with other classics from Erasure, Bronski Beat. the Bee Gees, Spice Girls and Lady Gaga (just to name a few) and you’ve got a perfect playlist. What more could you really ask for?

  1. These are great. Thanks for sharing.

I do love Madonna… I have quite a few of her songs on my phone… Also Lady Gaga.

  2. Madonna is always the right answer. I can take or leave Harry Styles, to be honest, but he’s a little too mellow for me.

    Great list!

  3. I have a combination of Spanish and English music. I like music with a beat but also have some slower ones. I use Amazon Music but also have a playlist in iTunes (back when I had CDs and had to upload the music or pay for the songs). I also love Madonna but have never listened to Harry Styles! Oh and yes to Erasure!!!

  4. Love the mix here! I agree that you cannot go wrong with a Madanna song. I’m familar with the hype around Harry but not sure I know any of his songs – going to have to explore more!

    1. he’s just really pleasant to listen to. I mean it’s pop at it’s finest but sometimes I want just fun, poppy, no deeper meaning music. Clearly because Dua Lipa was my number 1 listened to artist last year according to Spotify! It doesn’t get more pop than that!
