How do you finish up one year and start another in a simple way that represents you?
For me, it’s running. I didn’t get to do half as much running as I wanted, and then there was that whole huge disappointment of a Half Marathon in April, but nonetheless it would seem now that it really is just what I do.
and even though there was too much consumption (mainly food, but also some alcohol; way less than previous years), and the desire not 100% there, I got out and did it again today:
I hope everyone got off to a great start to the New Year. Don’t make excuses, just get out and do something. Anything. You’ll feel better for it.
Hej!
I found your blog via MFP and know how hard it is to get up after NYE and do something the equal out last nights calories :) Great job, you can be really proud of yourself!
I’m thinking about starting to run a little, but what I absolutely would love to be able to is seeing where I’ve been running. I’m basically writing to you to find out how you did this cool tracking of your runs just like in the pictures above. Would you mind, telling your secrets?
Thank you and a great 2012!!
Hi there! thanks for the comment. I use endomondo, an application for my blackberry. I think you can go to http://www.endomondo.com to find out how to use this app for whatever sort of phone you have! It’s cool stuff :)
I got my ass our there too and let me tell you I was so tempted to just lay on the couch and do nothing! It was a total sluggish run, but of course I felt better after I was done :) I just wanted to start the first day of the new year in a positive way, and I did :)
Now back to regularity in both my eating and exercise…vacation is over :(
Have a great week!
Well done Penny! I didn’t even have vacation but I know the feeling… back to work for me. Christmas and NY came and went way too fast but I’m glad to get back to routine!
You’re so right…no excuses..jut do something. I’ve been doing just that, and it feels good…
Happy New Year lovely!
YAY! what an attitude to enter into 2012 – the year of change! <—–I don't know if that's really what it is, but it's what I'm calling it!
I think the important thing is to start slow and remember if you're hurting or tired or whatever sometimes it's better to just do what you can! I can't wait to hear about your running and races this year :D
I think it’s great to think of it as a year of change! Maybe the Year of Evolving! (is that a word??? hahahahaha!)
I’m definitely doing what I can and no pressure. I want to ENJOY life – life that includes being healthy and fit!!!
I didn’t realize you had also run Utrecht. I did the same and thought it was the worst race ever! Too hot but also boring course. not enough water etc… But hey, you kicked a** yesterday :-)
I totally failed at running on Jan 1st.
