Fit Five Friday – July’s Ultimate Coffee Date

Hey everyone! Finally I have some time again to join in on the Fit Five Friday link-up. Sometimes life is just too busy, but I always have enough time for the Ultimate Coffee Date! Can you just believe it’s July already??

Grab our graphic and show the love!

WELOME to Fit Five Friday with with your FIVE amazing hosts – me, My First 5K and MoreRunning With Attitude, Runs with PugsZenaida ! Feel free to join in on the fun! And head over here to join the Ultimate Coffee Date with other amazing, supportive and friendly bloggers.

It’s time for coffee and catching up again, who’s in? I’m feeling like a large cold brew over here – what are you drinking?

If we were having coffee…

I’d ask you how was June for you? Did you achieve any small or even big goals? Run any races? Lift heavy?

I am quite pleased with my stats in general in June. For starters, I wanted to walk a bit more than I did in April and May (even though the streak is minimum 1km per day) and I surpassed those two months by about 10KM. I also wanted to walk in the morning, on work days before work, in total 15 days and I believe I achieved 16.

I was surprised by my running total kilometres, in a good way, and also want to note that I even ran a couple of times in the morning, proving to myself yet again it can be done. And I started my half-marathon training, though not exactly in a stellar way, but capped off Week 1 nicely with a race (officially July)

My biking is less than May, but July will see more biking coming up.

My goal for the gym is 3 times a week and I was still on that until the week we went to Paris and the week we came back. No worries though, I’m planning in my workouts week by week to make sure I get there.

If we were having coffee…

I’d ask you, how your summer plans were coming along? Where are you going? What fun things do you have planned?

As we on on ‘staycation’ this week we are fully immersed in the summer feeling. Already we’ve had an epic bike ride and, by the time this is published, we’ll be in Friesland for a couple of days for more biking adventures and a parkrun.

I’ve also got a few other things in the pipeline; an Arnhem Together (AT) Ladies Night, a BBQ at a friend’s house, a 90’s Dance Festival with another friend of mine, and later in August AT will be working together with Indigo Volunteers to do a charity 5K event in the park with a family picnic to follow. Our “big” vacation is our trip from September 1st – 15th to Sicily. I can’t wait!

What would you tell me over coffee?

I’ve not got too much to catch you up on since I’m participating in the WRD again – y’all are pretty up to date! I’d love to hear what’s new, what’s planned with you!

  1. We just got back from Stockholm and Copenhagen which was awesome! Mostly marathon training and doing local stuff for the rest of the summer. I have no trips planned until September. I got in 30000 steps a day (including running) on my trip so that was pretty epic!

Nice job on upping your walking!

  2. Yay for you on your June stats! Looks like you’re rocking the consistency game ;-)

  3. Jenn says:

So proud of you and all you are achieving! <3

I GOT TO PET CAPYBARAS!!!!!!! Best day ever!

  4. Great job on your June stats! Remind me which half marathon you will be doing. Sicily? Wow, that trip sounds awesome!

  5. San says:

Your summer plans sound lovely. We don’t have much planned and it makes me a little sad but only because we had such an epic summer last year that this year seems bleak in comparison… (maybe I can still turn this ship around, what do you think?).

    1. Renée says:

we’ve had summers like that too, so I know the sadness. can you get a weekend getaway somewhere? day trip? something that feels like vacation but doesn’t require the funds/travel of vacation?

  6. Farrah says:

I finally went back to lifting again so I’m happy about that! I’m also working on consistency + also trying to make sure I walk more every day.

It sounds like you have a lot of fun things lined up! :] I’m going to a wilderness medicine conference later this month (it’s partially an excuse to visit some more national parks, hehehe).

    1. Renée says:

consistency is really the key – not that I’m an expert but at least the more I go the more it feels like a normal task.

oh wow a wilderness conference sounds really interesting! and a great excuse !!
