Otherwise known as: Hell. Seriously, I have so much stress going on at the moment, work related. To just put it in a nutshell, someone is sick and we don’t know if that person is coming back. Ever really. At…

No, we are not talking Kylie here and we are not talking Dead or Alive Though admittedly I probably could work up a sweat in a club dancing to these two tunes, I’m talking about Spinning: I have been wanting…

Looks like I’ve finally reached the point where I’m sick enough of myself and my excuses to do something. So, I have a plan for next week. Today is already pretty much over (not a license to eat like a…

Apparently I’m the only one

12 October, 20101 November, 2010 RenéeBody, Mind, Self27 Comments on Apparently I’m the only one

Well. I’m sure I’m not, but when asking certain things out to the twittersphere, I didn’t get much feedback from other heath and weight loss bloggers about plateaus. – I had a great chat with Samantha and exchanged a couple…

This is a really weird time of year for me. There are a few things involved; It starts with my birthday at the beginning of September. I always like to go away as my “present”, plus then I don’t have…

A Break

24 September, 2010 RenéeBody, Mind, Self7 Comments on A Break

Phew. With the last months of running, goals, dietitians, working, not-sleeping enough, counting, traveling, and the last two weekends with each having a race on Sunday, I really needed a break. I didn’t actually realize I needed a break of…

Motivation, that fickle Friend

14 September, 201022 July, 2011 RenéeMind, Self8 Comments on Motivation, that fickle Friend

What motivates you? To do anything really? I have a few motivators in my life. I’m motivated to get out of the bed (albeit reluctantly at times) on weekdays to go to work. I do this because I have bills…

ProPoints, I’m done with you!

13 September, 2010 RenéeMind, Self12 Comments on ProPoints, I’m done with you!

As of right now, I am no longer following Weight Watchers ProPoints. I’ve had enough. I am still using the program to give me guidelines on serving sizes and what ranks higher in nutritional value. But I’m done counting. I’m…

August Recap

2 September, 2010 RenéeSelf8 Comments on August Recap

Here’s the verdict on August: 1) Food journal every single day. Whether online, on paper, on post-it notes, whatever. Every day journaling. Everything consumed. Didn’t fully happen. I did journal a lot though, which led to my ultimate frustration, point…

This is the third time I’ve attempted to make a blog post. Two days ago I I wrote a whingey little baby post. I may as well have filmed myself lying on the ground having a temper tantrum. One day…

Running on Strava – Let’s connect!

Fresh out of the oven, or crusty old pie, you choose:

Team Pie

Hey! I’m Renée, 55 years old; I started running just to lose some weight and in the meantime found out that running changes pretty much everything. My favorite running partner, Ron (56), started running just to support me, but he found out he actually had a talent for it and consequently has run over 28 marathons in the span of 6 years with  3 of them being World Majors.

This blog is about running, fitness, mental health, travel and, though I am trying to get out of diet mentality, I may still talk about weight/ weight loss.   Sometimes a combination of all, sometimes not. And not always in that order.

Running and fitness keep me sane, travel is my passion. We live in the Netherlands – Mr Pie is Dutch and I am American and Dutch, now living here over half of my life.

Contact Me

I love to comments and hearing from people regarding pretty much anything, so please feel free to contact me at any time! I'm not a professional by any means, but I love to share stories, tips and tricks, commiserations, celebrations and of course a good slice of pie (if you've got one on offer)
